Kristall was the fourth piece of the Mir Space Station. It was launched May 31, 1990, and was attached to the station for the first time on June 10, 1990. The Kristall was continually moved after that to make room for the Spektr, until getting permently getting attached on the station July 17, 1995. The Kristall was sent up to space for earth and star observation.
